About

GICAN, Groupement des Industries de Construction et Activités Navales, is the trade association for over 320 manufacturers and organizations in the French maritime sector.

Its members include : shipyards, system manufacturers equipment manufacturers, subcontractors, engineering companies, naval architects, naval aviation industries, as well as companies and organizations in the maritime ecosystem.


3 main missions:

Defend the interests of the French shipbuilding industry with public and political players, to promote an institutional and political environment favorable to the development of our industry.

Promote French maritime technological and industrial expertise by highlighting members’ know-how, both in France and internationally. GICAN also federates France’s international pavilions, and organizes the EURONAVAL and EUROMARITIME trade shows through its subsidiary SOGENA.

Support the development and competitiveness of the naval industry by helping to structure the sector to meet the challenges faced by manufacturers: Innovation and financing Employment, training and skills Economic and collective intelligence to support business development in France and abroad.
