BlueNose develops solutions to improve the aerodynamics of merchant marine vessels – particularly container ships – in order to reduce their fuel consumption by 3-5%. This reduction in fuel consumption enables them to directly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. These structures are developed using an algorithm developed in-house to generate optimized, customized shapes which are then installed on ships already under construction. We are also developing solutions that will ultimately improve the hydrodynamics of these ships, complementing existing solutions on the market.
Today, BlueNose’s skills and activities are focused on fluid mechanics, algorithmic shape generation processes and innovative materials.
Our flagship product consists of an aerodynamic revamping solution for ships. Our innovative structures are easily deployable for shipowners wishing to improve the aerodynamic efficiency of their vessels for economic or regulatory reasons.
