XSun
X for “innovation” and Sun for “renewable energies”: XSun develops and produces revolutionary flying machines powered by renewable energies. One of the technical challenges is to design machines that are as autonomous and safe as possible, using only renewable energies, in order to push towards 100% decarbonized transport, all strongly inspired by the space sector. The first family of aircraft developed is the SolarXOne family, for unmanned machines weighing less than 30 kg. XSun works for both the civil and military sectors.
XSun brings together all the skills needed to design unmanned aircraft, from aerodynamics and systems design to flight testing and operations.
SolarXOne.2 (SX1.2) is a solar-powered, battery-powered drone in the sub-30kg category. The system is a concentrate of innovation, including a double solar-powered wing (FR, EUR, US patent). The system can carry 5 kgs of payload with 200W of power.
The entire system is designed around safety, with a set of redundant systems. The autopilot is DAL B and ultra-high-performance. The whole system is 100% electric, and offers unrivalled silence for a drone, with less than 42dB at a distance of over 200m. Communication is by satellite or radio (100 km range). A 25L payload volume makes it easy to change payloads: high-resolution camera (PHASE ONE), LIDAR or high-performance gyro ball.
