About

The result of several years’ research between laboratories in Paris and Siena (Italy), ULTIMETAS has been offering innovative metasurface-based antenna solutions over a very wide frequency range (from GHz to some 100GHz), with very high bandwidth and reconfigurability, for more than 5 years. The aim is to offer a miniature, secure, ultra-high-speed technological solution to the needs of future communications systems (omni-connectivity), as well as to the safety and security of future autonomous air and ground systems.
ULTIMETAS exploits three patented technological breakthroughs to design and produce the first digital metasurface antennas with very high bandwidth, spatial scanning and reconfigurability.

ULTIMETAS designs, simulates, manufactures and characterizes antenna solutions based on metasurfaces operating in a wide frequency range from 1 to some 100 GHz, planar, with very wide bandwidth and reconfigurable, and on different types of substrates (dielectric or semiconductor). These antenna solutions can be passive or active (electronic or optical reconfiguration), single-beam or multi-beam with entangled apertures. ULTIMETAS has expertise in materials engineering, analytical modeling of surface wave control, and 3D electromagnetic design of wall-mounted demonstrators, as well as their near/far field characterization over a wide frequency range.
