SEGULA Technologies is an engineering group active in the automotive, aerospace, energy, rail, naval and process sectors.
With six dedicated naval sites in France (Le Havre, Cherbourg, Brest, Lorient, Saint-Nazaire and Toulon) and abroad (AUS, ROU, ESP, ITA), SEGULA carries out naval architecture, engineering (structure, mechanics, systems), fitting-out and industrialization studies, for new construction and refit. Our studies cover military (surface or submarine) or civilian (passenger ships, workboats) equipment and vessels, as well as port infrastructures (cranes, handling equipment, floating pontoons, dock gates). We also offer support in IS administration and support, project management, EDM, etc.

Energy storage is a major issue in the management of intermittent renewable energies, guaranteeing uninterrupted power availability. The need for energy storage is growing as a result of the increasing share of intermittent renewable energies in the energy mix. Whether for cooling the compression system or keeping the air under pressure, the marine environment offers significant advantages for energy storage.REMORA, SEGULA Technologies’s patented high-efficiency storage solution, is based on the principle of isothermal air compression, and provides a sustainable supply of electricity. REMORA consists of a 15MW floating platform and subsea tanks with a total storage capacity of 90MWh. With an overall efficiency of 70%, external air is compressed by the platform and then kept under pressure in the underwater tanks, which serve as energy storage facilities. The solution is optimized for moderate depths (70 to 200 meters), making it particularly well suited to most of the world’s coastlines.
