SEAir is a design office specializing in the integration of retractable and servo-controlled hydrofoils.
Our systems ensure very high fuel savings, stabilize, reduce shocks and improve performance. Applicable to offshore and RIB vessels, defense, working boat and passenger transport sectors.
SEAir offers engineering missions, builds prototypes and sells Flying Boats.
The three flagship projects are 8-10 m boats (Flying Tender ®), a Zero Emission Ferry and a 20 m fast penetration Vedette for the European Defense Agency.
The high stability of foiling boats makes this technology also ideal for surface (USV) or underwater (UUV) drones.
An expert in foils, lift systems and, more generally, all stabilization solutions, SEAir’s know-how enables :
– very significant fuel savings,
– significantly improved sailing conditions: strong attenuation of fatigue and injuries, as well as cognitive benefits.
SEAir has developed strong expertise in measuring ship behavior, notably with civil and military health laboratories.
Two offers are available:
– sale of Flying Tender boats, semi-rigid or not, with retractable and servo-controlled foils,
– customized studies for all types of vessels, whatever their size.
Our engineers and naval architects can carry out a turnkey project or be integrated into our customers’ facilities: adding appendages to hulls, designs, calculations (FEA, CFD, flows…), systems (electronics, servo-controls and flight laws…). Our workshop manufactures carbon and composite parts, and integrates the entire assembly.
Two retractable foils in the bow and a third on the engine make this flying semirigid ideal for fast operations. The retractable foils can be used for beaching, topping out or transported on a trailer like any conventional boat.
The CRIS system provides real-time electronic foil regulation to keep the boat level.
The comfort provided is unrivalled at just 20cm above the water, even in Level 3 seas: greater stability, less spray and less shock (-70% in Sea 2; -50% in Sea 3). The boat is more discreet, with less noise, while speed is on average 20% higher than a conventional boat.
Finally, fuel savings oscillate between -20% and -50%.
Flying Tenders are available in 5.5m, 7m or 7.65m (Pro and Military).
A bespoke version of a flying ETRACO is also being delivered for the Forces Spéciales Françaises.’
Enter the era of decarbonization with a Ferry powered by hybrid or electric propulsion to get in and out of port, then flying on the water with its foils to save 50% fuel.
The Ferries of the future are being designed today: 18m for 80 passengers is an ideal compromise.
Foils can be deployed to provide a wingspan that gives the vessel great stability, at close to 40 kts.
