KNDS France has over 4,450 employees and 9 sites in France. Products and Services
NARWHAL

The NARWHAL® is a stabilized, remotely-operated naval turret equipped with a 20mm cannon. It combines firepower with a set of high-performance electro-optical day/night cameras, to counter and neutralize both conventional and asymmetric threats. Thanks to these instruments, the NARWHAL ensures very high performance standards, with exceptional accuracy at a range of 2000m. The NARWHAL® is ideally suited for integration on all types of ships for surveillance and maritime policing missions, as well as for interception or self-defense missions on high-tonnage vessels. In particular, it will provide close-in self-defense for the French and Egyptian FREMMs and the French MISTRAL-class BPCs. The NARWHAL is also used on Lebanese Navy patrol boats and in the French Navy (PLG).

RAPIDFIRE

The RAPIDFire is a remote-controlled artillery system designed by Nexter and Thales and equipped with the 40 CTA telescoped ammunition gun, an integrated fire control system and an operator console. The RAPIDFire is a multi-role system with its own tracking and aiming capabilities, providing platforms with close-in self-defense against air and surface threats. Featuring state-of-the-art optronics designed by Thales, and new telescoped ammunition technology developed by Nexter and BAE subsidiary CTAI, RAPIDFire represents the future of naval short-range artillery. The system is characterized by its ability to deal with multiple threats with a single, precise and ergonomic weapon. Initially designed for ship protection, it complements other naval weapon systems such as anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles. In fact, RAPIDFire costs far less to operate than a missile, and its ammunition consumption is optimized compared with that of small-calibre systems with very high rates of fire.
