‘In response to emerging international trends to make ships « Salvage Friendly », JLMD has developed the FOR system, which consists of the installation, on board the ship, during its construction or retrofit, of additional custom-designed circuits dedicated to the emergency evacuation of pollutants from bunker and/or transport tanks in the event of an accident or incident. This equipment significantly reduces environmental, financial and image damage for the shipowner, and enhances the value of the vessel.

This equipment already secures the tanks of numerous vessels of all types: Container ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers, chemical tankers, military…The FOR system benefits from certifications by classification societies (IACS) and specific class ratings issued by Bureau Veritas (FORS) and RINA (DORS). The function is also recommended by the IMO in the new Polar Code (January 2017).
