About

CWS develops innovative wing sails for new-build and retrofit marine transport, enabling ships to limit their fuel consumption and associated emissions.
Design office located in Paris and production plant located in Saint-Nazaire.

CWS offers an innovative wind propulsion system for the marine sector. Our patented system, based on a rigid, reversible and asymmetrical profile, ensures smooth propulsion even on fast ships with limited drift effects; operation is automatic and maintenance minimal. Our wing reduces the vessel’s fuel consumption by assisting the main engine, and can be deployed on both existing fleets (modernization) and new vessels (direct integration).
CWS also provides best-practice analyses of integration, fuel savings and EEDI/EEXI impacts.

AIRFIN350

Our 353 m automated wing sail is designed to harness the power of the wind for direct propulsion. Thanks to our patented reversing technology, our wing sail delivers consistent power in almost all wind and vessel speed conditions. In bad weather, light winds and complicated harbor operations, the folded » position allows for reduced height, minimal forces on the ship and resistance to high winds up to 70 m/s. The rigid composite surface and actuation system are optimized for minimum maintenance, and automated operation limits crew intervention.
