COLD PAD
Cold Pad is an engineering company offering bonded fastening technologies as an alternative to welding or drilling. Thanks to our 30 patents, we are the only company to install bonded fasteners in nuclear power plants. On steel, we have already installed over 4,000 fasteners in marine conditions.
Our technology is also suitable for wind turbine construction, avoiding the use of magnets, reducing steel consumption by up to 10% and eliminating the use of rare earths for fasteners.
COLD PAD offers turnkey solutions for structural repair and reinforcement in the marine sector, with a long-standing specialization in offshore structures such as FPSOs. Our solutions are unique in that they use cold work as an alternative to welding, thanks to patented techniques for bonding composite parts. This alternative enables safe and efficient repair in ATEX zones, hence our presence mainly in the oil&gas sector.
Our competencies include R&D, engineering, manufacturing and on-site installation of our solutions (although we can delegate certain installations to local customers/partners depending on the case).
C-CLAW® is specially designed for offshore environments such as FPSO. It is truly revolutionary in the marine world and inspired by composite techniques used for decades in aeronautics. The solution is optimized for extreme marine conditions, in particular FPSO environments, where hot work generates a considerable number of constraints, stoppages and risks… Indeed, COLD PAD aims to move structural maintenance from planned stoppages to general maintenance. C-CLAW® is a robust fastener with an automated process-controlled installation that is non-invasive, durable, safe and reliable.
C-CLAW® offers a fast, reliable and durable fastening solution for all your maintenance and modification operations on marine structures: cable trays, pipe supports, skids, handrails, ladders, etc.
C-CLAW® completes the typical toolbox of companies for on-board platform maintenance.
Cold Shield® is a unique, class-approved, permanent structural strengthening and repair solution for FPSO hull beam strength. It addresses problems such as plate thinning due to corrosion. Typical applications include: corroded decks, side hulls, bottom hulls, frames, tank structures and offshore loading buoys. Although bonded composite reinforcements offer a real alternative to conventional “hot” structural repairs, they generally remain vulnerable to the moisture inherent in the offshore environment.
Cold Shield® is designed to remain waterproof in offshore conditions, particularly during the two critical phases of installation and maintenance. What’s more, the pre-qualified installation procedure has been transformed into an industrial process designed to be faithfully replicated on site for reliable, reproducible performance.
