AFDM (Association française du droit maritime)

The French Maritime Law Association (AFDM) brings together nearly 400 maritime law professionals (academics, specialized attorneys, and in-house counsel involved in maritime activities). Its primary purpose is to study issues related to maritime law and the law governing maritime activities in general, in all their aspects (domestic and international, private and public).
The AFDM is a member of the International Maritime Committee (CMI), which brings together more than fifty national associations worldwide.

All legal and regulatory issues related to maritime activities – Work in thematic committees – Preparation of conferences of the CMI, the IMO’s legal advisory body – Objective: harmonization of maritime law at the international level – Through the CMI’s working groups, AFDM members actively participate in the work of international organizations with jurisdiction over maritime law.
