AMPHITRITE
Amphitrite combines multiple satellite and in-situ data sets using artificial intelligence to provide reliable ocean forecasts and innovative solutions that enable sound decision-making at sea. Our team, composed of experts in oceanography, satellite data processing, and artificial intelligence, develops a new generation of AI-based ocean forecasting models tailored to specific applications such as maritime transport, vessel performance monitoring, and anti-submarine warfare. This technology is the result of research conducted in recent years at the CNRS and École Polytechnique by Amphitrite’s founding team.
Our team consists of about fifteen experts in artificial intelligence, satellite data processing, and oceanography. We produce high-resolution AI ocean forecast models calibrated using the most recent satellite and in-situ observations. This approach offers a level of accuracy and reliability that surpasses traditional numerical models.#When combined with high-frequency navigation data from commercial vessels, this enables us to build AI digital twins for complex ships.
This dataset powers our web interface, The Ocean Bulletin (https://bulletin.amphitrite.fr), which helps optimize ships’ routes and speeds to reduce fuel consumption and minimize voyage times. In the defense sector, we offer a unique solution that optimizes the deployment of sonar systems in a heterogeneous ocean environment.

Routing
Amphitrite is a French startup developing a new routing solution that combines multiple sources of satellite data with artificial intelligence.
This system accurately detects variations in the position and intensity of surface currents that can slow down or accelerate commercial vessels, allowing ships to either take advantage of or navigate around these currents to save fuel and thereby reduce emissions.
AQUALINES is dedicated to the development, production, and operation of ground-effect vehicles as a high-speed, green maritime mobility solution to revolutionize the public and private maritime transportation market/sector worldwide.
The Naviplane’s two forward propellers generate an airflow by creating a layer of air several meters thick on the water’s surface to provide lift for the vehicle.
The craft is designed to travel at speeds between 200 and 320 km/h and is expected to be commercially available in mid-2024.
The routing system is currently being tested on the Ciudad de Cadiz ro-ro vessel for Louis Dreyfus Armateur; initial results show a 5% reduction in fuel consumption—and consequently, in emissions.
The Aquas 14 will be a hydrofoil capable of carrying cargo and 14 passengers (including 2 crew members) and traveling at a maximum speed of 220 km/h.
Other hydroplane models are expected to be able to carry up to 300 passengers.
