Proven during operational missions as a Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and deployed in Anti-Submarine Warfare/Anti-Surface Warfare (ASW/ASuW) duties, the C295 represents a modern, risk-free, and much more efficient alternative to older generation, while its operating and maintenance costs are significantly lower.
The C295 Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) version is equipped with Airbus’ in-house-developed Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS) tactical system, and is fitted with underwing stations to carry weapons and other stores. In addition to launching sonobuoys, the C295 can deploy torpedoes, anti-surface missiles and depth charges. Chile and Spain have acquired the C295 for service in ASW missions.

Our UAS provide essential capabilities for diverse missions. For Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), they offer real-time monitoring with high-resolution sensors. U950 Eurodrone provides multi-mission ISR; U850 Sirtap, high capability tactical UAS; and our stratospheric Zephyr, persistent ISR and vital connectivity for disaster management.
Airbus Defence and Space has been involved in the development and deployment of the network and communication systems of French Navy ships for almost 15 years. More than 80 vessels will be soon equipped with the RIFAN 3 network: aircraft carriers, amphibious helicopter carriers, frigates, command and supply vessels, patrol vessels, minesweepers, submarines and support vessels.
The resilience of the network will also be strengthened by the development of rapid reconfiguration mechanisms to adapt to the available means of communication in different tactical and operational scenarios. In the face of growing cyber threats, the network will also rely on enhanced cybersecurity to preserve the integrity and continuity of operations. The RIFAN network brings together and operates all the communication resources available on board, such as Syracuse IV, Comcept, commercial satellite constellations (LEO, MEO and GEO) and radio resources. It allows the vessels to communicate on an IP network guaranteeing a very high level of security, and to exchange data with classification levels ranging from ‘unprotected’ to ‘secret’.
Airbus operates a powerful and versatile satellite constellation, integrating optical and radar capabilities for comprehensive Earth Observation.
Our multi-sensor, multi-resolution and multi-source approach to data enables us to meet the diverse data needs of our customers,whether they require wide coverage, fine detail, intensive monitoring, high reactivity, timely acquisition regardless of lighting conditions or extensive archive data.
Derived from our first-class imagery, we also process a comprehensive portfolio of geospatial datasets including high-quality elevation models, global layers and grids.
Coastal surveillance

SURVEY Copter has signed a contract with the French defense procurement agency (DGA) to supply the French Navy with 11 systems (22 aircraft) of Aliaca maritime version fixed-wing electric UAVs (dubbed SMDM / “Systèmes deMini Drones aériens embarqués de la Marine”), as well as associated training and integrated logistics support.
The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2021.

These studies will culminate in a sea demonstration on a Navy frigate in September 2022.
