AFBE (Association Française pour le Bateau Electrique)

90 companies in the Electric Boat sector have joined forces to form the AFBE.
To promote:
– the design, construction and use of electric boats;
– to encourage the installation of electric power stations on waterways;
– to contribute to respect for nature and the environment;
– to establish relations with counterpart associations in other countries;
– to encourage exchanges with organizations dealing with other types of electric vehicles.

To achieve these objectives, AFBE is implementing a program of concrete actions, validated at each general meeting:
– develop and maintain an information website: www.bateau-electrique.com (more than 200 visits per day);
– carry out market studies to identify relevant applications for electric boats;
– become an interlocutor with public authorities, in collaboration with other associations;
– participate in standardization work on the use of electricity in boats;
– take part in nautical events, symposia, information days and trade shows, all of which are opportunities to encourage meetings and exchanges, and to inform, compare and federate players in the field.

The AFBE now has over 50 members, including some 20 electric boat builders, representatives of SMEs and major corporations, institutional partners including EDF, local authorities, etc.
