ABYSSA

ABYSSA’s origins lie in a technical project (MELODI 2014-18) supported by BPIfrance as part of the Concours Mondial Innovation and aimed at proposing the deployment of a fleet of AUVs for the detection of sulfide clusters. Today, ABYSSA is the French deep-sea exploration company, carrying out inventories of deep-sea underwater heritage.
Since its creation in January 2019, ABYSSA has benefited from the support of several institutions and organizations (Cluster Maritime Français, Vice-Présidence de la Polynésie Française, Gouvernement de Nouvelle-Calédonie, Secrétariat Général de la Mer, Ministère des Affaires Étrangères, TechnipFMC, Deep Sea Mining Alliance, Ifremer, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, Région Nouvelle Aquitaine, BPIfrance).

Exploration missions involving the deployment of AUVs are at the heart of ABYSSA’s business. In addition to this operational component, ABYSSA also provides consulting and analysis services.
