GICAN is federating the French Pavilion at IMDEX ASIA in Singapore from May 3 to 5, 2023, with the support of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and the DGA. IMDEX ASIA is the largest naval exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, and provides an opportunity to present your equipment and services to ASEAN customers and prospects, and to meet with local industrial partners. It is expected to welcome 11,000 visitors, 236 exhibitors, 67 delegations and 26 navy and coastguard chiefs of staff.
Relations between France and Singapore are close, and the two countries have signed a strategic partnership agreement in 2021. Defense relations are structured around common values, sustained dialogue, advanced cooperation and shared operational experience (Afghanistan, Gulf of Aden). Several defense agreements provide the framework for this relationship, which is based on an annual strategic dialogue and regular staff and armaments committees. Singapore has acquired ships, helicopters, missiles and radars from France, as well as other equipment and systems from both major groups and SMEs.
Significant opportunities exist in naval defense and maritime security, both in Singapore and in other ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
