CNN MCO, Thales and CS GROUP have announced a strategic partnership, under the contracting authority of the French Navy’s Fleet Support Service (SSF), to modernize the navigation systems of the three Amphibious Helicopter Carriers (PHA) of the French Navy.
As the holder of the maintenance in operational condition (MCO) contract, CNN MCO is leading the modernization alongside Thales and CS GROUP, in a context marked by hybrid conflicts and widespread jamming of radionavigation systems. The objective is to reinforce the autonomy and resilience of navigation capabilities.
A first deployment of the inertial navigation system was completed on board PHA Mistral during its technical stop in Toulon. The contract also covers Tonnerre, Dixmude and the BCR Somme. The solution relies on:
- TopAxyz inertial navigation units from Thales,
- integrated into the global navigation system designed by CS GROUP,
- with full onboard integration carried out by CNN MCO.
An important milestone in the modernization of essential French Navy capabilities.
