Framatome and Selectarc, both GICAN members, announce the signing of a strategic partnership with Framatome acquiring a 40% stake in Selectarc, the only French manufacturer of welding and brazing filler metals certified ISO 19443, a standard specific to quality requirements in the nuclear sector.
This alliance aims to secure the supply of strategic filler metals, essential in the manufacturing process of components for the primary circuit of French nuclear reactors. The partnership fully contributes to reinforcing the sovereignty of the French nuclear sector's supply chain.
Selectarc, specialized in assembly, repair and maintenance, is a key player in the nuclear, defense, aeronautical and space sectors. The company has 139 employees across two production sites near Belfort and Besançon.
"The acquisition of a stake in Selectarc strengthens our supply chain and is a further illustration of Framatome's commitment to sovereignty. Selectarc has the skills to deliver products that meet the high demands of the nuclear industry, where precision and safety are essential," said Grégoire Ponchon, CEO of Framatome.
This partnership perfectly illustrates the consolidation and skills development dynamic within the French defense industrial base, an objective championed by GICAN and its members.
