EURONAVAL 2026: Photospace marks 20 years of technical expertise in naval optronics and geolocation systems
Founded in 2006 in Seine-et-Marne by three engineers, French SME Photospace is celebrating 20 years of operations. Based in Dammarie-lès-Lys, the company now employs 35 specialized engineers and technicians, establishing itself as a key supplier of custom embedded technologies for defense, maritime security, and demanding industrial environments.
Photospace’s engineering capability spans several core disciplines, including advanced electronics, optronics, radiofrequency (RF) engineering, and embedded software development. The company structures its operational catalog around two primary business divisions:
- Geolocation and Tracking Technologies: Photospace designs end-to-end tracking networks comprising ruggedized beacons, RF receivers, and secure server infrastructures. Leveraging GPS, GSM, satellite, and IoT connectivity, these systems incorporate proprietary direction-finding (DF) algorithms and specialized software platforms for real-time asset monitoring.
- Naval Optronics and Antenna Systems: The company develops optronic payloads, high-performance cameras, microwave antennas, and digital image processing units engineered for harsh marine environments. A key aspect of Photospace’s naval offering includes addressing hardware obsolescence for visual capture equipment installed on surface vessels and subsea assets.
The company’s defense portfolio is highlighted by the deployment of its MTT1 optronic mast subsystems for submarine applications and its A130 series of multifunctional naval antennas, both of which are currently in active service with international naval forces. To optimize development cycles, Photospace utilizes a modular design philosophy using standardized component building blocks, enabling rapid adaptation to specific vessel integration requirements.
Marking two decades of continuous growth and technical innovation, Photospace will exhibit its complete line of optronic, antenna, and tracking solutions at EURONAVAL 2026 in Paris from November 3 to 6 (Stand F66).
