On August 28, 2025, Exail Technologies announced the first sale of its new long-endurance autonomous surface drone, the DriX H-9.
The customer, a leading global hydrographic authority, will use the system for naval defense applications. This marks Exail’s second defense success in 2025, following the sale of five DriX H-8 to a European navy for naval surveillance missions.
Designed for long-duration offshore operations with minimal logistics, the DriX H-9 offers:
- up to 20 days of autonomy at sea, twice that of the DriX H-8;
- greater payload capacity and enhanced flexibility;
- simultaneous integration of multiple geophysical sensors (sonars, magnetometers, multibeam echosounders);
- a stern launch and recovery system for towed sensors and ROVs, as well as an adaptable mast for additional sensors supporting Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).
With this launch, and following the recent successes of the DriX O-16 and DriX H-8, the DriX range continues to grow, now covering operations from coastal areas to deep waters with extended autonomy.
