GICAN federates the French Pavilion at the LAAD show in Rio from April 11 to 14, 2023. This regional trade show is an opportunity to present your equipment and services to Brazilian customers and prospects, as well as to numerous South American delegations, and to meet local industrial partners.
Brazil and France enjoy a long-standing friendly relationship, which has taken on a new scale with the construction of an ambitious strategic partnership, launched in May 2006, covering all areas: military, space, energy, economic, educational, cross-border, development aid in third countries, and cross-border cooperation between French Guiana and the state of Amapá.
In 2008, France and Brazil signed a defense agreement and contracts for the local construction of four Scorpene submarines by Itaguaí Construções Navais (ICN) as part of the ProSub program. Brazil has also acquired a large number of helicopters, including 50 EC725s in 2008, part of which were manufactured locally by Hélibras, and 27 H125 helicopters in 2022. French systems and equipment manufacturers have also been present in Brazil on naval, land and air programs for many years.
There are many opportunities in the defense and security sectors, and the new political context should enable a revival of defense and economic relations between France and Brazil. Cooperation and opportunities also exist in other countries in the region, such as Chile, Argentina and Peru.
